Amanda of the 1001 Days

  • Feb. 17th, 2011 at 10:48 PM
Elizabeth I - They Will Not Pass
I'm officially starting June 1. List subject to change without notice. May not be available in all states. No purchase necessary.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

I like this idea but I can't even imagine coming up with 101 things... besides, a lot of my goals are "do nots" ^_^

Great list!
It looks like you know what you want and the list looks well-rounded (it includes travel, books, scholastic pursuits, giving to others). All the best to you!

and they are ...
1) GREAT list. Really. Good luck!
2) You and I have a massive amount in common if your list is really so telling. I'm friending you, volunteering to help with your resume, and asking if you crochet. See, my Jayne Hat is crocheted, not knitted! ;-)

Re: and they are ...
Friended you back. Welcome!

My crochet skills are virtually non-existent. I can make a single chain (I once made a ten foot long chain), but never got the hand of making rows. My mom can crochet like a fiend, but can't knit. We tried to teach one another, but as we have opposite handedness, it didn't work out so well.
